Disclaimer
The Hidden Minds of the Bible offers interpretive, informational content and a self-reflection assessment. It is intended to prompt thoughtful self-examination, nothing more.
Not professional care
Nothing on this site is therapy, psychological or psychiatric diagnosis, medical advice, treatment, spiritual direction, or pastoral counseling, and nothing here is a substitute for any of them. The assessment does not diagnose any condition. If you are struggling with your mental health, please speak with a qualified clinician. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
Interpretive readings, not clinical claims
When we apply a modern psychological term such as narcissism, shame, burnout, or anxiety to a biblical figure, we are offering an interpretive reading of an ancient narrative. We are not diagnosing historical persons, and we are certainly not diagnosing you. These are patterns to reflect on, not verdicts.
Scripture and interpretation
We hold an ecumenical, non-denominational posture. Our readings are one lens among many. Faithful readers and scholars across traditions interpret these passages differently, and we do not claim final authority over their meaning.
Your responsibility
Any decisions you make after reading this site, or after taking the assessment, are your own. We are grateful you are here and we want it to be useful, but use your own judgment and seek qualified help when you need it.
Questions about this notice, or about who we are, can be answered on our About page.
